It was our first visit, and we had a lovely time...to say the pub is dog friendly is an understatement, there were pooches all around and how fab that was. Our own Indiee was very much at home.
Our lunches were very yummy, roast Sunday lunches - beef and pork and the gravy was stunning 👌
Rowington is very pretty too, the pub is right on the canal 🤗
We stumbled upon this place whilst out on a walk around Baddesley Clinton.
We had muddy boots on, but they had show coverings by the front door, so we made the most of these.
The pub is also dog friendly.
The atmosphere was really lovely. The staff were so friendly and the food was so tasty.
We had the fish fingers sandwich with chips, which was huge!
When you think of lovely pubs set in the countryside. Take your dog for a walk along the canal and then sit down for a couple of pints. Tom o the wood ticks every box. Situated off the old Warwick road next to the canal. This beautiful country pub isn’t just set in a great location the food they serve is as good as the views. From sandwiches for lunch and Sunday roasts and the evening meal they really do have you coming back for more. We don’t go fare away with out our beautiful lab honey so finding places that cater for our furry family is a must, (there’s even a menu for dogs). We have eaten lunch and Sunday dinners here before but this was our first time for evening meal. We shared a starter onion Bhaji with a sticky chilli dip. It was so nice. Probably the best I have tasted. (See empty plate pic) for mains I had the homemade steak and kidney pudding and the good lady had fish and chips. My pudding was so old school pudding with lovely gravy and creamy mash. Ticked every flavor box. The fish was cooked in a thin batter so not to stodgy it was really home cooked food. When you walk away from a place looking forward to the next meal there you no it’s a great place. Real time is taken to make you feel welcome. When you live in bham it’s a bit escape the rat race enjoy lovely food and relax next to the water. With your best friend who will also have met a few new friends too. Great job guys and would recommend to others. No to many tho 🤣🤣🤣
Just came off the boat for a quick lunch time pint but was tempted to have a bite to eat after seeing the food being served. We had Fresh mussels and Gambas Pil Pil both excellent and mains a lovely pork chop with best mash I have had outside London. The beefburger was very tasty served with proper chips and salad all washed down with nice ale.
Nice atmosphere with locals driving to get a lovely lunch in a great setting.
Price was very good for the quality of service and food.
More boaters who appreciate good food and atmosphere should pull in.
Exceptional. What a great establishment. You can have three different experiences, around the bar, a group in the conservatory, and a quiet table. Food choices are superb. Food was all home cooked to a high standard. Staff were attentive and concise. Will definitely be going back.
Excellent venue. With great staff to compliment it. Food was fantastic, Sunday dinner was perfect with beef cooked to perfection. The guest beer was bloody lovely church farm pale ale. Not had a good kip for years like the good old days. Infact i didn't eat again till breakfast & could have easily skipped it. My 1st time here for a father's day family treat & will be coming here more often most definitely. Ps Theo the dog loved his complimentary Sunday lunch which wasn't expected but very welcome. Thanks for a great experience. 10/10
Pretty pub with a good looking menu. I got their burger but the red onions in it were basically onion skin, the flavour was all in the sauce not the meat, and the tomato slice included the bit where the stalk connects, and the kids burgers didn't taste of anything, nice ice cream though and I liked the skin-on fries. I'm sure the other dishes were better, my dad liked his fish and chips.
I very much enjoyed my meal. I had the arancini and the pie. Highly enjoyable. The menu was varied with a few vegetarian options available if i wished. Service was quick, which always helps and a reasonable price for a weekend lunchtime. It is a dog friendly place with a canal walk available next to it. Well worth a visit.
